From a very young age, David Basha demonstrated a big fascination for cars and their mechanics. So much so, that he went on to participate in (and won) the United States Skill Olympics automotive competition sponsored by the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA). After winning the local, state, and national competitions he was invited to participate in the International finals in Holland. While in the Netherlands’ competition, he outperformed competitors from Germany, Italy, England, France, Spain and Holland.
He wanted to be an Auto Mechanic, but General Motors Corporation (GM) had a brighter future for the young Basha. They were watching his talents up close and decided to enlist him with General Motors at their proving ground facility in Michigan and also sponsored him to earn his Mechanical Engineering degree. Basha spent sixteen years working as an Engineer with General Motors.
Determined to make an impact to the industry that he was naturally so passionate about, he started on an entrepreneurial road that would eventually lead him to experience and learn all aspects of the automotive business. He shined each and every time. Basha’s hands-on approach has been the key to his success. He also believes in the “Link Business” approach.
Nothing makes David happier than seeing his clients come back time and time again, not because they mean business, but because it means that we are “doing it right.” He refers to his clients by their first name and he will probably remember the last time they came by to do an “oil change or a tire rotation”
Do not be surprised if you spot him on a service lane or within the business office at either store, even on the sales floor. He worked really hard (and continues to do so) in order to make Carriage the right dealership.
