2018 Mitsubishi Mirage Trims (ES, SE, GT)

So you’ve already decided on the Mitsubishi Mirage, and now you just need to determine which trim is the best fit for your needs. This subcompact car is available as a five-door hatchback or a four-door sedan and comes in ES, SE, and GT models. Here’s how they compare to one another.

Performance

All 2018 Mitsubishi Mirage trims are equipped with front-wheel drive and powered by a three-cylinder engine. In the base model, the ES, it’s paired with a five-speed manual transmission, while other trims come standard with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which operates like an automatic. This is available as an upgrade in the base model. With the CVT, you’ll get class-leading estimated fuel economy of 37/43 city/highway miles per gallon, compared with 33/41 mpg with the manual.

Appearance

The ES and SE trims are available as either a hatchback or a sedan, while the top-of-the-line GT comes only as a hatchback. The GT model is also visually distinguished with special badging and larger wheels. Inside the cabin, the SE and GT trims have a leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob.

Features

This year, the base model of the Mitsubishi Mirage is newly equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, along with a USB port, four-speaker stereo system, and a rearview camera. Jump up to the SE trim to add Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, automatic climate control, proximity key, and push-button start. The GT trim has all those features plus heated front seats.
