July 11 marked the annual Mitsubishi Owner’s Day (MOD) West Coast event, which took place at the Mitsubishi headquarters in Cypress, California. You can probably guess what happens there!

At the event, thousands of enthusiastic Mitsubishi owners, especially those of modified Lancer Evolutions (it isn’t named MOD for no reason, after all), showed up to show off their tricked-out rides and to party.

It wasn’t all just fun and games, though. An esteemed panel of judges and the crowd in attendance were also responsible for picking out the world’s best Evos, based on “the aesthetics and the paint on the exteriors, the upholstery and gauges on the interiors, but mostly the engine bay.”

Rowie Landicho’s red Evo X won the judges’ vote while Lev Castillo’s dark grey 2008 Evo X won the People’s Choice award. With the Evo’s last production days just around the corner, we thought it was a nice way to give the legendary sports car its final goodbyes.

That being said, it’s not too late to visit Carriage Mitsubishi to get your hands on a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution before they all run out!
