Mitsubishi Motors Named Finalist in 2017 WOMMY Awards
Mitsubishi has been named a finalist in the 2017 WOMMY Awards, an annual event organized by the Word of Mouth Marketing Association that honors the most remarkable social media and word of mouth marketing campaigns.
This year Mitsubishi was nominated in the Introduction Award category for its “Kids Talk Safety” campaign. Mitsubishi was nominated alongside the Singapore Tourism Board and Goodroom, and each of the three companies will be awarded a bronze, silver, or gold WOMMY Award at TimesCenter in New York City on April 26th.
The “Kids Talk Safety” campaign was an extension of Mitsubishi’s 2017 Outlander marketing and shows children explaining the safety features of the Mitsubishi Outlander in their own words. In the ad for the Blind Spot Warning system, kids give creative answers to what’s in their blind spot (a memorable one is “a monkey throwing bananas at people”), and another ad for Collision Mitigation tells the benefits of having automatic braking in outer space.
These ads not only let kids use their imaginations but also put into focus the fact that kids benefit from active safety technologies and understand their use. By giving kids basic descriptions of the features and letting them describe them in their own unscripted way, Mitsubishi created a truly special ad campaign.
