Mitsubishi Sends Popular Sports Car out with Lancer Evolution Final Edition
In a couple years, the Mitubishi vehicle lineup will look remarkably different. The brand recently announced a long-term plan to stop building sedans altogether and focus on their SUV offerings from now on. The announcement, while exciting, has some unfortunate down sides—for example, it means the end of the Mitsubishi Lancer, our favorite edgy sports car.
However, Mitsubishi is not letting the Lancer go without one final hurrah. In fact, a new Lancer Evolution Final Edition will be released as a farewell model. The Lancer special edition will first be released in Japan, where it will see a limited run of 1000 models. We expect to see a similar production run in the U.S. soon as well.
The new Lancer Final Edition stacks some really cool design updates on top of the base model features—updates like a black chrome grille, a cool exclusive emblem on the trunk led, performance-ready wheels and tires, and more. Under the hood, you’ll find a 2.0 four-cylinder engine with 291 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. Come see us here at Carriage Mitsubishi to learn more about the Lancer’s final ride today.
