Finally! A full sized family SUV for grocery shopping and deep space shuttle runs to the Starship Enterprise.

Actually, it’s not available for either. This is the newly-revealed Mitsubishi GC-PHEV Concept car and it provides a visual platform for some of the technology that is in development at the cutting-edge labs of Mitsubishi.

Inside Mitsubishi Concept

The GC-PHEV (Grand Cruiser, Plug-in-Hybrid Electric-Vehicle) is a showcase for the new drivetrain on which Mitsubishi has been working. In spectacular fashion, it is driven by a super-charged V6 pumping out 335hp and a 70kW electric motor good for an additional 94hp adding up to a whopping 429hp total. Possibly more impressive is the EV-only range of 25 miles and over 35mpg total.

That massive output is dispensed to all four wheels through the Super All-Wheel Control system developed by Mitsubishi. This combines with an Active Yaw Control that can vary torque between the front wheels for increased driving stability. The interior supports what is called the Tactical Table, a flat touchscreen on which the front and backseat passengers can enjoy combined media and apps.

The GC-PHEV demonstrates that the future of Mitsubishi is full of ever-expanding capabilities and possibilities. Come be a part of it at Carriage Mitsubishi!
